The case was heard at West Kowloon Court |
A Filipina stood beside an American at West Kowloon Court yesterday, Nov. 21, to face a charge of drug trafficking.
But the prosecutor said they were not ready to take pleas from
Rosita Palao, 54 years old, and Stephen Dickensheets, 66, because the Government
Laboratory has not finished analyzing the 10-kilo liquid suspected to contain
cocaine seized from them.

The two were arrested with the suspected drug on May 14-15
in Hong Kong, according to a complaint filed by the Customs and Excise
Department.
A press release issued by the Department on May 15 said the 10 kilos of liquid cocaine estimated to be worth $8 million, was carried by Dickensheet when he arrived in Hong Kong from Sao Paulo, Brazil, via Paris, France.
During customs clearance, officers found 17 pieces of bed sheets soaked with the suspected drug inside his checked-in suitcase. He was promptly arrested.
After a follow-up investigation, Palao was arrested in Tin Shui Wai on suspicion that she was connected with the case.
Both suspects were subsequently charged with violation of the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance,
