Koinu is forecast to move within 100 km of Hong Kong's southern part |
Against previous expectations, Typhoon Koinu will move closer to Hong Kong later today, so the Observatory said will issue Number 8 gale storm signal at 12:40pm today, Sunday.
In the past few hours, Koinu maintained its strength
while gradually picking up speed as it moved closer to the Pearl River Estuary.
As a result, gale force winds can be expected in
many parts of the city with some squally showers today and tomorrow.
