A unique
collection of indigenous Philippine art will be launched at the Philippine
Consulate’s Sentro Rizal on Sunday, Oct. 29, 3:30pm, in celebration of National
Indigenous People’s Month.
The show titled Mula-T: Likhang Sining, Alay sa mga Katutubong Pilipino will feature various art works of members of the all-Filipina domestic workers’ art group, Guhit Kulay.
The exhibit highlights the beauty and rich culture of native Filipinos and will run
for a week, or until Nov. 5.

The project is a
joint collaboration between the Consulate and Guhit Kulay, which conducted a
basic sketching workshop also at the Consulate last Sunday, Oct. 22.
A talented group
of FDWs took part in the sketching exercise which was facilitated by Guhit
Kulay artists Rochelle Dulay Razon and Jonnalyn Macalalad Molina.

The group now headed by Lyn Lopez is continuing Guhit Kulay’s mission of sharing the artistic skills and talents of members with their fellow migrant workers.
The month of
October was decreed as Indigenous People’s Month under Presidential
Proclamation no 1906 issued in 2009.
