A Filipina domestic helper who admitted stealing two pairs of slippers on two different occasions from her employer has been fined $500 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, suspended for 18 months.

The fine she was ordered
to pay and was taken from her bail was smaller than the $600 value of the
slippers stolen from Tsang Tsz Kit on June 1 and Sept. 17 this year, at house
no 10F, Kau Lung Hang Lo Wai, Tai Wo Service Road East, Tai Po.
However, the cost to
Reyes was far heavier, as she was dismissed from her job and because of her
criminal conviction, would likely be barred from working in Hong Kong again.
