The entire Philippine airspace will be shut down for six hours, or from midnight to 6am on May 17, for maintenance for the country’s air traffic management control system, according to airport officials.
This comes in the wake of another power outage at the
Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Monday, May 1, which lasted
for seven hours and affected 46 domestic flights and about 9,000 passengers.

standstill, stranding about 50,000 passengers due to the unexpected shutdown of
the country’s airspace because of equipment malfunctions
