The patient, who was asymptomatic, stayed at Silka Far East Hotel in Tsuen Wan for his 14-day compulsory quarantine on Nov 30, with all his tests showing negative results.

After completing his quarantine, he moved to Kimberley Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, and in line with quarantine restrictions, he underwent another test on Dec 6. The result was positive for Covid-19, with the L452R mutant strain. However, he had a low viral load.
Initial investigations by the CHP showed the patient, who
was fully vaccinated with Sinopharm in the mainland on May 18 and Jun 17,

CHP decided that this is a re-positive case, after reviewing

In a separate statement, Immigration said it had already conducted thorough cleaning and sterilisation of the seventh floor offices, and arranged staff of the concerned offices to undergo testing.
The CHP said that as a reminder, all persons who resided or worked in the same building as Covid-19 patients with mutant strains will be subject to compulsory testing on specified dates in accordance with the Department of Health requirement.

Meanwhile, gathering restrictions that allow only up to four people to get together in public, have been extended for another two weeks, from Dec 9 to 23.
Also on Dec 9, everyone who enters specified private venues such as restaurants, sports facilities, cinemas, beauty and massage parlours, should use the LeaveHomeSafe app before being allowed entry. The same rule was applied to all public venues earlier.
