A 40-year-old Filipina was charged in
The charge was read to the defendant, M. Tambaoan, when she appeared before Magistrate Daniel Tang this noon. It was her first appearance in court since her arrest after the Jul 14 incident.

The prosecution said the other helper, Helen B. Garcia, suffered
injuries when Tambaoan assaulted her at their employer’s residence at Bracken
Hill,
Details of the attack were not disclosed by the prosecutor. No plea was taken.

Tambaoan’s counsel from the Duty Lawyer Service said the defendant was fired by her employer after the incident. He said the woman was now staying in a boarding house in Tsuen Wan while looking for an employer.

The lawyer requested for an adjournment of the case until early December so Tambaoan can collect some documents from the prosecution and to seek legal advice.

The defendant was allowed to extend her bail, though it was increased to $500 at the prosecution’s request. She was told to appear in court again on Dec. 13.
