Two new coronavirus cases were reported in Hong Kong today,
Aug 8, both of them imported.
The Centre for Health Protection said the first involves a 30-year-old man who arrived from the United States and the second, a 22-year-old woman who flew in from Japan.

The CHP said the man, who arrived on Aug 6 on CX 881 from Los Angeles, showed symptoms when he disembarked.
He was found to have the L452R mutant strain of the coronavirus.

The CHP said the man received two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in the US on Apr 1 and Apr 22.
The woman arrived on a JL029 flight on Aug 4 from

Staff said the woman tested positive based on a sample she submitted on Day 3 of her quarantine at Ramada Hotel Harbourview in Sai Ying Pun.
The new infections took the number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong to 12,014..

A total of 36 cases have been reported in the past 14 days to Aug 7, including a local case with unknown sources. The rest are imported cases.
Someone who was at the book fair on Jul 18 has tested preliminary positive |
Earlier, the CHP informed the Hong Kong Convention and
Exhibition Centre that a male returnee
from the United States who was confirmed to be a positive case on Saturday was at
the venue on Jul 18.
As he was found to carry the L452R mutant strain, everyone who had been to the Book Fair, Sports and Leisure Expo, and World of Snacks held there from 11am to 2pm on that day must undergo compulsory testing no later than Monday.

Eleven other places he visited and
had worked in, were also put under compulsory testing notice.
Also put under compulsory testing notice late on Saturday were two places today’s confirmed case from the US had visited on Jul 15 and 16.
These are the Hong Kong Football Club in Happy Valley and Original Vision at
AXA Southside on Wong Chuk Hang Road.

Any person who was at the Football Club from 8am to 9am on Jul
15 day must undergo testing by Monday.
The same order applies to anyone who had been to Original Vision for at least two hours on Jul 15 or 16.
