The Centre for Health Protection has reported seven new Covid-19
infections, all imported, on Saturday. All of them were fully vaccinated.
Three flew in from the United States, while the others came from Tanzania, Austria, Spain, and France.

Five had the BioNTech jabs, another from Sinovac, and the last, the single-dose vaccine from Johnson & Johnson.

Three tested positive on arrival at Hong Kong airport, while four were found infected while in hotel quarantine.

Those who arrived from the US included an asymptomatic 32-year-old who lived in Sea View Mansion in Sheung Wan during the infection period, and was found to carry the L452R mutant strain.

The others were a 69-year-old man who developed symptoms on Aug 4, and a 58-year-old man who had symptoms on Aug 6.

The rest of the new arrivals were a 27-year-old woman who arrived from Tanzania, a 22-year-old man who came from Austria, and a 24-year-old man from Spain, all asymptomatic; and a 35-year-old man from France who developed symptoms on Aug 5.

They took Hong Kong’s total Covid-19 tally to 12,011 confirmed cases.
A total of 31 cases have been reported in the past two weeks, all but one imported. The local case has been categorized as re-positive, or an old infection whose source could not be determined.
