The police have arrested a 24-year-old Indonesian
domestic worker after the body of a newborn baby boy was found in a plastic box
in a flat in Sai Wan Ho.
A police spokeswoman said officers were called at 9pm
last night, Dec 8, after the baby was found inside the box in the kitchen of a
flat in Tung Hei Court at 38 Yiu Hing Road.

The infant, still attached to its umbilical cord, was
certified dead at the scene.
The domestic worker was taken to Pamela Youde
Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan for a medical check-up, but has since
been released.

The spokeswoman said the woman is now being detained
pending the verification of the baby’s cause of death.
Meantime, the case has been classified as “concealing the birth of a child (pending).”
