Today, Apr 16, marked the second day in a row that
not a single locally acquired coronavirus disease or Covid-19, was recorded in
Hong Kong.
There was only one case reported by the city’s health
officials, and it involved a 19-year-old student who just recently returned
from the United Kingdom, and initially tested negative for the virus.
Her case brought HK's total tally to 1,017, with about half of the patients still in hospital.

Yesterday, three cases of residents testing positive
after returning from overseas were reported, and no local one.
Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan of the Centre for Health
Protection said today’s patient flew to Hong Kong from London on Apr 2, and
tested negative for the virus. But in line with government health protocol she
was put under mandatory home quarantine for 14 days.

On Apr 13 she returned home from quarantine and felt
a tingling sensation in her throat, but paid no need.
Yesterday, she ran a fever, so she sought treatment at Caritas Hospital where she was tested again for
the virus. This time, the result was positive.

There is one suspected case of Covid-19, but the
officials said it will not be added to the total tally pending further tests.
Also today, 26 more patients were discharged,
leaving 528 confirmed cases still in hospital. Nine are in critical condition,
and another nine in serious condition. The death toll stands at 4. All the rest
are in stable condition.
