Galleria Camaya, in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate in New York, will showcase the outstanding works of some of the most promising Filipino artists in Hong Kong and Manila in an exhibition to be held from July 1-12 at the Philippine Center on Fifth Avenue in New York City.

A total of 21 artists, many of them award-winning and highly sought after by collectors, will join the Lakbay Sining sa Amerika exhibit. They include Galleria Camaya’s owner and noted ceramic painter, Gail Camaya-Hills, who is driven by her passion to propel talented Filipino artists into the international art scene.

Through Galleria Camaya, Hills first introduced Philippine Art at the famous bi-annual Asian Contemporary Art Show in Hong Kong. She has also organized several charity art exhibitions and free art tutorials for Pintura Circle, a group made up of Hong Kong-based Filipino artists.
In October last year, Galleria Camaya made its first foray into the European art scene by holding exhibitions at the Philippine Embassy and the United Nations office in Vienna, Austria.

The New York show has been made possible by the generosity of Consul General Claro S. Cristobal, who also once served as the country’s top diplomat in Hong Kong.

The other artists featured in Lakbay Sining sa Amerika are Bono Albania (former HK- based but has relocated to NYC), Ejem Alarcon, Jepoy Almario, Jaime Raphael Atienza, Gerrico Blanco, Ronald Buxani, Grace Pineda Camacho,Astrid Hernandez Castillo, Richard de la Cruz, Ronald “Bullet” Dematera, Alvin Florentino, Mary Rose Gisbert, Jaime Gubaton, Dondon Jeresano, Norlie Meimban, Keith Paras , Jojo Ramirez, Stella Tansengco Schapero, Rowel Vicencio and Janeth Marticio- Weil.
