| The Filipina helper will stand trial at Kwun Tong Court |
A Filipina domestic helper will face trial on a charge of willful
assault on her 9-year-old ward after she pleaded not guilty to the charge in Kwun Tong Court
E. A. entered her plea before Magistrate Bina Chainrai after
the charge was read to her in court.
She was accused of assaulting the boy on Mar 31 in the home of
her employers in Tseung Kwan O.
The charge said the assault was done in a manner that was
likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to the victim’s health. No
other details of the case were mentioned.
Chainrai adjourned the hearing until Jun 11 at the request
of the prosecutor, who said he needed to apply for a CCTV trial in Kowloon City
The magistrate also extended the bail of the defendant on
