St Joseph’s wins Faith Encounter

The St Joseph’s Church in Fanling has won the rolling trophy in this year’s Faith Encounter held on Feb 28 at the Holy Family Parish Hall in Choi Hung.
The St Joseph’s team scored 26 points to come out ahead of 11 other groups that vied for the prize.
Group leader Cecilia Rongalerios Golez said the cooperation and dedication of the members in studying their assigned topics helped them win the annual competition.

The Faith Encounter is hosted by the Hong Kong Filipino Catholic Biblical Pastoral Ministry or HKFCBPM. It was started in 2004 with the aim of getting more people to read, share and live the bible.
Earlier, five out of 11 participants in the 5th Bible Encounter held on Feb.21 at the St Francis’ Church in Ma On Shan were declared as winners. The winning teams will go on to compete in another Bible Encounter with other parishes, to be scheduled by the  committee on Basic Bible Seminar.
St Francis’ coordinator, Ruby C. Silva, said that the parish is inviting more participants to join the next Bible encounter and other church related activities as part of its effort to balance its parishioner’s social and spiritual life.
